homesick software package provides keep your dotfiles (configs) in git, you can install in your Ubuntu 16.04 LTS (Xenial Xerus) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install homesick
homesick is installed in your system.
Make ensure the homesick package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep homesick *
You will get with homesick package name, version, architecture and description in a table
